PENGARUH PERKEMBANGAN TEKNOLOGI TERHADAP PENGGUNAAN BAHASA INDONESIA DAN NILAI KEWARGANEGARAAN

This study examines the phenomenon of declining formal writing and speaking skills among young people as an impact of digital technology development on the use of the Indonesian language and civic values. The purpose of the study is to analyze the forms of decline in formal language proficiency, identify technological factors that influence it, and describe its impact on the values of the Indonesian language and citizenship. The research method employs a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature review of online media, scholarly journals, and news articles that report cases of declining formal language competence. The results show that the decline in formal language skills is manifested in irregular sentence structures, spelling errors, low understanding of affixation, and the dominance of colloquial language. This phenomenon contributes to the weakening of comprehension of standard Indonesian language rules and the fading sense of civic responsibility to preserve the national language.
