Abstract

The transformation of tolerance education has become an urgent necessity in the era of Society 5.0, an era characterized by the integration of digital technology and human social life. Indonesia, as a multicultural nation with diverse ethnicities, religions, races, and cultures, requires an educational model capable of instilling tolerance values in an adaptive and sustainable manner. Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, as the nation’s unifying philosophy, serves as the fundamental foundation for developing tolerance education that is relevant to contemporary challenges. This study aims to examine the concept of transforming tolerance education based on the values of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika in responding to social dynamics in the Society 5.0 era. The method employed is a literature review by analyzing various academic sources, educational policies, and contextual learning practices. The findings indicate that the transformation of tolerance education should be directed toward strengthening national character, digital literacy, and students’ critical and empathetic thinking skills.
