Bibliometric literacy is a crucial academic competence for university students, especially in conducting scientific writing and research. However, students’ understanding and skills in citation analysis and bibliometric tools remain limited. This study aims to enhance students' bibliometric literacy through training on the use of Harzing’s Publish or Perish (PoP) application. The training method consisted of lectures, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and evaluation. The program involved 40 students from various study programs and was analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative approaches. Pre-test results indicated a low average score of 43.2, which significantly increased to 82.5 after the training. Furthermore, 92.5% of participants stated that the training content was highly relevant to their academic needs. Discussions based on self-efficacy, experiential learning, and constructivism theories demonstrated that the training effectively built students’ confidence, technical skills, and critical awareness in evaluating scientific references. This training is concluded to be an effective educational intervention and is highly recommended to be integrated into higher education curricula.
