PESANTREN SEBAGAI PILAR HARAPAN DAN PILIHAN MASYARAKAT DI ERA KONTEMPORER: Kajian Manajerial dan Sosiologis

This qualitative research used a survey method to explore information about knowledge, perceptions, hopes for Islamic boarding schools and the reasons why people sent their children to Islamic boarding schools. Data were processed using reduction, displaying and drawing conclusions. The research results showed that people were very familiar with Islamic boarding schools. Apart from that, public perception stated that Islamic boarding school was Islamic religious-based educational institutions which have the main aim of educating students in religious knowledge, morals, morals, general knowledge and skills. Thus, Islamic boarding schools had a positive trend attached to their institutions. In fact, the community expected Islamic boarding schools to be literate in technology and monitor its use, improve their education in various fields such as faith, morals, knowledge and skills that are not limited to the brain but are applied in everyday life, improve their facilities, affordable fees, provide assistance for underprivileged students, child-friendly Islamic boarding schools, a clean and healthy Islamic boarding school environment, so that students are comfortable studying at Islamic boarding schools. Meanwhile, the reasons they sent them to Islamic boarding schools were that the students' social interactions are protected from bad environmental influences, the students learn religious knowledge through the yellow book and directly from the source, general knowledge, morals and skills. Apart from that, the facts proved that Islamic boarding school graduates had good morals, religious and maintain their beliefs.
