KONFLIK IRAN ISRAEL DALAM PERSPEKTIF SIYĀSAH ISLĀMIYYAH: Antara Politik Perlindungan Umat dan Kepentingan Kekuasaan

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel from the perspective of siyāsah islāmiyyah (Islamic political theory), focusing on how military actions by both parties are justified as acts of self-defense and protection of the Muslim ummah. Employing a qualitative approach and library research method, this study explores Islamic normative foundations of political decision-making in warfare, particularly through the lens of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah and principles of siyāsah shar‘iyyah. The analysis reveals that while Iran positions itself as a defender of Palestine and a symbol of resistance to Zionism, its military interventions often result in destructive consequences, exacerbate sectarian divides, and fail to deliver substantial benefits for the broader Muslim community. Furthermore, the absence of unified Islamic political leadership contributes to the fragmented response of the Muslim world. The study calls for a strategic consensus grounded in maqāṣid values and Islamic solidarity to restore a just and ummah-oriented siyāsah islāmiyyah.
